This set of money Post-it notes is awesome! It is brand new and in excellent condition! I took the sticky notes off of the pad and organized them on pieces of laminated white construction paper. When I was taking one of the sticky notes off of the pad, it did not tear off evenly at the top, as I tore it off too quickly. Consequently, a 1" section up in the top, right-hand corner had to be mended with transparent tape. But, the damage was so little that there is still plenty of adhesive a tad further down in that corner, so there really is no issue. I purchased this set for use with my kindergarten class, but I retired before I had a chance to use it. As the Post-its have never been used, I consider this set to be new. I was also going to color in the coins with a brown and silver colored pencil, which is something you may want to do before using if you purchase this set. This set comes from a smoke free home. These educational Post-its were made by 3M. They promote fun learning and are designed to help prepare children for math readiness. They are recommended for children ages 5-8. Money skills are always a difficult concept for young children. The use of these sticky notes can make learning a little more fun! This set consists of 81 preprinted, orange Post-it notes with black words, numbers, and outlined coins (80 printed and 1 blank). They measure 4" x 3". As mentioned above, as a way to store and organize these, I have them on laminated construction paper to which they stick and remove easily. When I took the Post-its off of the pad, I kept them in order. You can see that first, there is a sticky note introducing the cent sign symbol and the word to go with it. Then, the 4 basic coins are introduced with an illustration on one side and the word on the other. Next, there are sticky notes with a basic coin on the left side and a combination of coins on the right side, but not a combination of different coins. Moving on, there are next Post-its with a combination of different coins on the first half and a price on the other half (with the exception of the 3 and 4 cent sticky notes). I like how the coins that are the same are arranged in small groups, as this is what we teach children to do when they are working with a combination of different coins. The Post-its with a dotted line down the middle could actually be cut in half to make a matching game. Then, there are Post-its that are not divided in half, the majority of which mostly have different combinations of coins on them. Again, the coins are grouped as mentioned above. And, last of all, there are sticky notes with just prices on them. There are plenty of activities that you could do with this money Post-it notes set. In addition to matching up the sticky notes that are divided in half after cutting them apart, children could also match up combinations of coins with prices. Real money or plastic coins could also be laid out on the coin illustrations. You could set up a pretend store, put a Post-it with a price tag on an object, and have children see if they can count out the amount of money needed to "buy" it. These 3M money Post-its are rare and very hard to find since they stopped making them! I have not seen any others currently selling online! This set would make a wonderful addition to a kindergarten, 1st , or 2nd grade classroom! It would also be great to have in a household with young children! I am hoping to find it a good home.
